Welcome to the website of Martham Parish Churches, the Benefice of Martham, Repps cum Bastwick, Thurne and Clippesby. These four lovely villages are situated within the Norfolk Broads along the River Thurne and River Bure which, historically, defined Flegg Island. Martham is the largest village with around 3,500 residents and its church is known as ‘The Cathedral of the Fleggs’ (meaning the villages of Flegg Island). Repps cum (Latin for ‘with’) Bastwick is the next largest village with around 200 residents and is situated on the opposing riverbank (and side of the famous bridge) to Potter Heigham. Both Thurne and Clippesby have around 100 residents which includes the hamlets of Oby and Ashby.
